Senate President Koko Pimentel once again slammed the hero’s burial of Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani (LNMB) over the weekend, but said that he won’t take his frustrations to the streets.

“Ang personal opinion ko po, kasi I don’t believe that Marcos is a hero. If I were the decision maker, I would not have allowed the burial in the Libingan ng mga Bayani,” Pimentel told Senate reporters Monday, November 21.

“But since I am not the decision maker, I will respect the decision of the decision-maker. That is a sad development for me,” the politiko said, reiterating a comment he made when the late dictator was interred at the hallowed LNMB Friday, November 18.

A massive protest rally has been scheduled by anti-Marcos LNMB burial personalities on November 25, or a week after the controversial interment.

However, don’t expect Pimentel to lend his voice to the demonstrators.

“Medyo priority ko muna ngayon yung budget. Kung masyado marami tayong inaatupag, baka ito tumagal ng mas matagal pa. Basta budget kami, and we hope to finish by Wednesday sana,” Pimentel answered when asked if he would participate in the rally.

It should be noted that Pimentel sits as president of PDP-Laban, President Rodrigo Duterte’s political party.

It was Duterte himself who ordered Marcos’s hero’s burial last August.
