Facing reporters after a public engagement Friday (Nov. 25), Robredo said she sees no problem with congressional investigations on De Lima’s alleged ties to drug lords.

“Para sa akin, wala naman akong problema na si Sen. De Lima is being put on trial, kasi kung may mga kailangan sagutin, panagutan,” she said.

However, Robredo believes the investigation conducted by the House justice committee— particularly last Thursday (Nov. 24), could’ve been better had congressmen deferred from asking what she believes to be “malicious” questions.

“Ang sabi ko nga, slut shaming, na wala namang lugar sa institusyon na ganoon. Wala naman siyang relevance sa gustong malaman para sa imbestigasyon na ginagawa,” she said.

Robredo made the comment after lawmakers feasted on lurid details of De Lima’s personal life upon quizzing their lone witness at the hearing, her former driver and lover Ronnie Dayan.

Among the questions which congressmen asked Dayan were the “intensity” of his seven-year relationship with De Lima and the truth about their alleged sex video.
